Day 947 in lockdown…

…or maybe it just seems that long! Thanks to Covid-19 we are continuing in lockdown until 11th May at the earliest. As we are quite isolated here, it hasn’t made too much of a difference to our day-to-day life, but it’s quite frustrating not being able to escape for a while and traipse round the shops. Action is closed!! Shopping once a week is a bit hard now. I’d got into the French way of shopping every day or every couple of days for what we needed and now I’m having to plan a week at a time. Needless to say, it all goes to pot a bit towards the end of the week, but thank God for Lidl fresh pizza bases and bolognese sauce.
People around here seem to be mostly being sensible, but then I see folk shopping with gloves on, taking their purse out of their bag with the same gloves on, driving away still with the same gloves on…the message is out there, as is the will, but the implementation sometimes leaves me a bit baffled.
Anyhow, I shall be doing my bit from Wednesday onwards as I’m collecting material, supplied by the Préfecture, to make masks. Quite where I’m going to set up the sewing machine other than on the dining table is anybody’s guess, but I’ll sort something out…

This was the first barbecue of the year, temperatures in the mid-high 20’s. Still not hot enough for Richard to wear sandals.
